It’s been officially announced that Revenge is set to return for a Season 3!!
Though we knew this day would come eventually, it’s nice to know that the ABC powers that be have officially renewed Revenge for Season 3. This news comes after the announcement that show creator Mike Kelley would be leaving the series following the Season 2 finale (airing Sunday, May 12).
Executive producer Sunil Nayar will be taking over for Mike and continuing with the third season, set to air sometime in fall 2013.
After a controversial sophomore run, the hit shoreside drama is finally getting back to it’s roots with epic takedowns, black hoodies, and lots of revenge.
The two-part finale airs Sunday, May 12 and will feature the death of at least one core character who has been with the show from the beginning.

Things are always heating up in the Hamptons, but it’s not necessarily because of the drama on Revenge. Canadian actress Emily VanCamp, who dazzles us each week playing Revenge Queen Emily Thorne, snagged a coveted spot on Maxim Magazine’s “Hot 100” List in 2013.
This sexy blonde clocked in at No. 61 on the list, beating beauties like Cameron Diaz, Rachel Bilson, and Zooey Deschanel. At the top of this year’s list was pop singer and actress Miley Cyrus, followed closely by former Disney star Selena Gomez and pop sensation Rihanna.

In the past weeks, Show front runner and producer Mike Kelley left the show numerous names have popped up as to who was taking his place for the unannounced 3rd season.
Ever since Revenge creator Mike Kelley left his position as showrunner, the word has been Sunil Nayar would be the natural next choice to run the day-to-day proceedings of Revenge. Nayar has been with ABC Studios since 2010, working as an executive producer on Body of Proof before finding his way to Revenge last summer. He must have proven himself to be a loyal contributor because now his promotion has been made official on top of a new deal that will keep him around ABC Studios for the next couple of years. Let’s hope he’s the right man for the job.
When Kelley left Revenge he did so on good terms with ABC, but he made his reasoning very clear: Revenge is not a show that works well in the typical 22-episode season. He felt the way the show dragged at times was due to having to stretch out the story across too many hours. But that was Kelley’s problem. Nayar might find a way to keep Revenge’s momentum going despite the long seasons. Deadline reported his promotion to showrunner came with a new overall deal with ABC Studios, signing him on for two years. All that’s left is for Revenge to be renewed for its third season.
The chances for renewal are good – Kelley didn’t have so much trouble that Revenge lost all of its good qualities. The way I see it, as long as Nayar can plot out the storylines effectively, there won’t be any need to worry about anyone becoming bored and moving on to something more exciting. If you want to take Kelley’s idea of shortening the seasons seriously, Nayar could structure all the new seasons as two halves, much the same way Heroes’ third season was written. It’s effective for a series that can struggle under their weight. It’s just a matter of proper distribution and this is one way to spread the load.
An official announcement is expected sometime within the next couple of months!

Time Warner Cable is joining the excitement surrounding the second season of the popular ABC hit drama series, Revenge, with the debut of a national TV spot created to highlight Time Warner Cable’s exclusive Start Over(R) feature.
The 30-second spot is designed to show how Emily Thorne, played by Emily VanCamp, breaks into someone’s house in a frantic search for evidence and then strangely, she repeats the same scene over because the viewers are using Time Warner Cable’s Start Over(R), which gives them the power to start over shows they miss from the very beginning.
“Revenge has rapidly become ABC’s highest-rated series and we couldn’t be more proud to continue to team up with the popular shows that our customers love,” said Jeffrey A. Hirsch, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, Residential Services. “We are thrilled to count on Emily’s help in demonstrating how to never miss out on the latest twist and turns of her drama-filled mission of revenge by using our Start Over(R) feature.”
I’ve included the commercial below.

Emily revealed to Canada’s Fashion magazine that she has urges to become a mom. “I have moments when I get baby fever and I think, ‘Why don’t I have a dozen of these now?’” VanCamp told Fashion of her baby dreams. “I’ve always had a maternal sense, and have dreamt about having children more than getting married and having the perfect wedding.” But, for now, her day job keeps her occupied.
“The show certainly keeps me up all night and teaches me what it feels like to have sleep deprivation,” she added. “So in that sense, ‘Revenge’ is my baby.” VanCamp has been dating her “Revenge” co-star Josh Bowman for over a year. Although she might still be a budding starlet, VanCamp certainly knows what she wants and what she doesn’t. She says she refuses to cave to the pressures Hollywood puts on women. “I think actors get addicted to youth but it seems so exhausting to me,” the ABC star told Fashion for its April issue. “There is such pressure in L.A. to keep young and beautiful [but] the expectation to maintain this perfectly youthful face is incredibly intimidating as a woman in this business. How can you act if your face is frozen? I don’t understand it. I find it really tragic and sad that women feel that they can’t age and still work in film. Some of my favourite women I like to watch on screen are the ones that allow themselves to age gracefully. They play women that are around the same age and they have no shame in it.”
VanCamp, who previously dated “Brothers and Sisters” actor Dave Annable and “Vampire Diaries” heartthrob Joseph Morgan, certainly doesn’t have to change for Bowman. The 25-year-old actor loves her exactly how she is. “I’m at my most confident when I’m in nature and I don’t have to dress up,” she said in the January/February issues of Women’s Health. “When I take off my makeup, that’s my boyfriend’s favorite. And that, to me, is a symbol of a great guy –- someone who doesn’t care about all that [glamorous] stuff.”

Emily graces the Canadian magazine ‘Fashion’ drenched in Gucci, Here goes excerpts from the interview.
On method acting:
“Oh, god, we couldn’t,” she laughs. “We’re playing very intense characters. A lot of us are doing intense scene after intense scene so when you go home you absolutely need to unwind, disconnect, and let it all go. If you live with these characters—it could be quite distracting and destructive. I have an amazing group of friends and they make it easy for me to let loose and relax on the weekends, get back to reality and ground myself.”On Hollywood’s obsession with plastic surgery:
“I think actors get addicted to youth but it seems so exhausting to me. There is such pressure in L.A. to keep young and beautiful [but] the expectation to maintain this perfectly youthful face is incredibly intimidating as a woman in this business. How can you act if your face is frozen? I don’t understand it. I find it really tragic and sad that women feel that they can’t age and still work in film. Some of my favourite women I like to watch on screen are the ones that allow themselves to age gracefully. They play women that are around the same age and they have no shame in it.”On red carpet etiquette:
“There is definitely a secret dress code when it comes to Hollywood. For awards shows, I feel if you’re nominated for something you can take it to that extra level because it is— in a weird way—your night. When you’re presenting, you need to be demure and understated. I do believe there’s an art to choosing the right dress for the right moment.”
The magazine will be available on March 11th!

Revenge Costars and real life couple Emily Vancamp and Josh Bowman have teamed together with WWF to help raise awareness for ‘Hands Off My Parts’. Emily has been quoted saying “”I have always loved animals. I grew up in a rural area where I learned to love and respect the wildlife around me, Now that I’m older, I’m fighting to see change on a more global level. We must do more to protect the most beloved and iconic species of our planet. By pledging to not buy products made from endangered species, we can all do our small part to ensure a future for tigers, rhinos, and elephants and the many other species threatened by wildlife crime.”.
